+2 PUB AND KITCHEN

Because this is my first review I’ll try not to be too mean

First of all, does anyone know what a Pepper stick  or a Hot Dott is??? How about a Pepervorian Pizza,  Pastor Salad or Quarsant Bread. If any of you don’t believe these were written just like this on the menu, I’ve got photo evidence.

The first time I entered the place, I thought, lovely decor... except for those coloured windows on the side that seem like the door to the back room of a strip club.  The bar is lovely and I love those huge mirrors when you are going up the stairs -classy!

It is also very spacious outside and the Live band show draws a large crowd, but of course that also brings in what my friend... (you know yourself) likes to call the Shashee girls.

The food is good, I unfortunately couldn’t have anything heavy but the shawarma was fairly good so I am assuming that most of the food is around that same level of quality.

I’ve never had such poor service like what I experienced this Friday. The service guys seemed disoriented, disorganised and unprofessional. They ended up arguing amongst themselves in front of customers. There was this particular one who wouldn’t show me the inside rest room because I had “pissed” him off.
At the same time I am also tempted to give them the benefit of the doubt since the place was really packed on Friday. I got better service the Sunday before; it was nothing special but it was certainly not horrible. Also Alfred, (waiter) was very nice and tried to get things done for us.

As for the kitchen staff, we had to wait over an hour and thirty mins for 4 shawarmas and one chicken sandwich. It felt like they had to find a chicken, kill, de-feather it, go to their farm pick some vegetables, go buy some flour, make the bread... before serving us and finally when we got pissed off and decided to leave the guy met us outside with the food and guess what...my sandwich never came.

The bar area is very cosy and elegant yet believe it or not there are no cocktails in the menu. You are either taking a shot of Hennessy, some beer or just anything straight from the bottle and we didn’t even get complimentary nuts (who doesn’t give nuts at the bar???).

Final Suggestions
·         The place is lovely and patronage is good because it is new, but Management need to step up their game or else it will be going down.
·         To the manager: when guests ask to see you it is only polite to see them
·         Get a proper Bar tender who can mix some good cocktails
·         Please edit your menu
·         The staff need some proper training; English, customer relations, conduct in front of customers and they basically need to know that if the place collapses, they don’t get paid.
·         Some good music at the bar might be good.

I set out on Friday to paint the city “Black and Yellow”. My brother asked for pizza and I wanted to get him the best pizza I could find... I have had it at the back of my mind to do this post for almost 2 years now. I really do not know why I have not posted about this place all this while but I think today is the day. Let ’ s call it #ThrowbackThursday!! I was born in August … That makes me fabulous by default. It was a day to my birthday and I met my friend Mona and my sister at Ci Gusta (Another one of my most favourite places in Accra). A GEM BEYOND THE DUST

Tucked away just outside the fringes of Accra, it is hard to believe such a lovely looking place is at the end of that bumpy, and dusty Teiman-Abokobi road. I am told it was built as an international students hostel (Now that is one very posh and well equipped hostel if you ask me). Hill view Guesthouse , is not actually "Guest house" standard if we are judging by the size and beauty of the place, the standard of the pool, the completeness of the gym, size of the restaurant, the number of rooms and the exquisite decor. I was there with friends and we loved the swimming pool. I plan on going back for happy hour on Friday. I am not going to talk about the Hotel/Guest house aspect of the place because I have not experienced that.
